Enjoy laidback Aeolian charm at this family-run hotel on Salina

Salina

Hotel Signum, Salina

Amidst a tangle of dazzling bougainvillea and the wafting scent of honeysuckle and jasmine, accommodation at this family-run restored country home is in a series of pastel-hued buildings that overlook an infinity pool, set alongside a heavenly hideaway spa. The interior décor is simple but packed with Aeolian charm, while outside, scenic terraces provide views across the sea to Panarea and Stromboli.

Dining at the restaurant is a gourmet extravaganza thanks to Martina Caruso, head chef and daughter of the husband-and-wife owners, who has put the hotel on the world’s gastronomy map by being the youngest chef in Italy to receive a Michelin star.

CLASSIC STYLE ON SALINA

Enjoy a warm but discreet welcome and an atmosphere of quiet relaxation. Stay in one of 30 individually styled rooms, with wrought-iron beds, tiled floors, shuttered windows, and typical Aeolian-style period furnishings.

LOCATION

Take time to explore Salina, the greenest of the Aeolian Islands. Take in the views at the Bay of Pollara which featured in the opening scene of Il Postino and climb the twin peaks in the centre of the island.  For some idyllic swimming and snorkelling in crystal-clear seas, squeeze in a boat excursion around Salina’s picturesque bays.
