Ferry travel to Sicily from mainland Italy

If you are flying into mainland Italy, you can continue your journey to several Sicilian ports by ferry.

The main ferry ports in central Italy are Livorno, Civitavecchia and Genoa.

In the south of Italy, you can take a ferry from any of the following ports: Salerno, Naples, Reggio Calabria, Vibo Valentia and Villa San Giovanni.

Sicily’s main ports are: Palermo, Trapani, Marsala, Messina, Milazzo and Pozzallo. Messina and Milazzo are the best for onward travel to the Aeolian Islands.

You can also take a ferry directly to the Aeolian Islands from Naples and Reggio Calabria on the mainland.

Choose from a selection of ferry operators, including Liberty Lines, Grimaldi Lines, GNV, Tirrenia and Siremar.
