Aeolian Adventures
At the beginning
Welcome to my foodie adventures in Sicily and the magical Aeolian Islands. My journey begins with Nonna Giuseppina, grandmother to me Laura. I was born in Puglia, in southern Italy, to an Italian father and English mother. Although I was brought up in England, summers were spent in Southern Italy and Sicily in the loving care of Nonna Giuseppina. In her kitchen, time seemed to stand still as we immersed ourselves in the art of Italian cooking, where food is an expression of love and recipes are handed down generation to generation.
Growing up, my family owned a holiday home in the Aeolian Islands where I spent many blissful summers in the laid-back culture of island life and, of course, in the most delectable foodie heaven.
It wasn’t until much later when the demands of work necessitated a break that I found myself returning to the Aeolian Islands seeking solace and connection with my roots. I settled on the Island of Vulcano, embracing a simpler way of life, living and working amidst the breathtaking beauty of this island paradise. It was here that my love affair for this enchanting region and its wonderful people really began.
It is my love of these tiny islands and the nostalgia of my grandmother’s kitchen that has inspired my passion for culinary adventures. For many years it was a labour of love, with time spent curating experiences that capture the very best of each amazing location. In 2014, I ran my first successful week long Aeolian Adventure, all with the cooperation of the local people.

A gastronomic journey
In the heart of Sicily and the Aeolian Islands, my culinary journey intertwines with a profound passion for the local food and its people. With our Aeolian Adventures, you will meet a whole cast of characters from home cooks, vineyard owners, local producers, boat captains and fishermen, who are not just collaborators but cherished friends who share a commitment to slow food, biodiversity and sustainability. Exploring beyond the islands, Sicily reveals a gastronomic landscape shaped by its rich history, its diverse geography and vibrant cultural history. Join me on an adventure where every dish tells a story of tradition, flavour and the vibrant spirit of Sicily.

Home from home
I know the tiny Aeolian Islands inside out and back to front. My tours take you to the heart of the islands and the local cuisine. And as well as having friends in the right places, I know the best hideaway coves, where to find the finest views and, most importantly, the logistics of getting around. On Sicily, where food already has a place on the world tourism map, we stay firmly off the beaten track, taking a cooking class in our chef’s home, eating out at exceptional handpicked restaurants and visiting a pioneering winemaker.

Escorted tour or tailormade?
My escorted Culinary Adventures run in spring and autumn, avoiding the summer months of July and August. With a maximum of 10 people on each gastronomic tour, you can expect individual attention in cooking classes and the best possible experience overall. Your holiday is genuinely all-inclusive of all accommodation and transfers, every meal with fine wine, classes, tours and excursions. Our guests love the fact that from their arrival on Sicilian soil, they’re completely worry free until they are dropped back again at the end of their holiday.
For those who prefer to travel independently, I also advise and oversee tailormade holidays in Sicily and on the Aeolian Islands for individuals, families and small groups, providing recommended accommodation, activities and excursions.
